So after weeks of Aaron having a loose tooth, he finally pulled his first tooth out. I'd been threatening to tie his tooth to the door, but he would have none of that! Tonight we were having spaghetti for dinner and he likes the noodles but not the sauce. I said if his tooth comes out he didn't have to eat the sauce, so that seemed to be enough incentive for him to pull his tooth out.
So what's the going rate for Tooth Fairy's these days?

Summer begins (Westbank trip)
The day after school ended we headed up to the Okanagan for a week holiday with our friends Ray and Ginny and their kids. Their anniversary is the same day as my birthday and this year they celebrated their 15th! One evening they went on a date to celebrate while we looked after their kids. This is them dressed ready for a date although Ray had holes in his jeans which you can't see.
Up in Westbank the pool is a main feature for everyone to enjoy. Aaron and Madi are pretty good swimmers now and Lexi is coming along good too.
Kyle swims around in his 'floaty' suit which he likes.

Back in the pool, I put the underwater bag on my camera to try a few shots...

Madi and Aaron having a picnic.

For Canada Day we didn't a lot of Canada-related things but the kids did get Canadian tattoos and decorated the house a bit.

In the afternoon we all went on a boat ride and some tubing. The water wasn't too choppy which made it more enjoyable.

Here are the kids hanging out after finding a geocache by the lake.

On Thursday we went for a walk along the former railway trestles near Kelowna. Many of the trestles were damaged in the fire of 2003 but have now been replaced.

The chipmunks in the area were very friendly, which probably has to do with the amount of food they receives from these humans...

On the way back to Kelowna, we saw a black bear and her cub, but I didn't get any great pictures of them. Then on Thursday afternoon we went to Penticton to celebrate Aaron and Kyle`s great grandma`s (`Nana`s) birthday. We went out for dinner and then back to their place for cake. Aaron and Kyle helped blow out the candles.
On Friday we were able to borrow a SeaDoo from a friend of Ray's for an afternoon. Ray took his kids and I took mine. We had fun ripping around the lake with this very powerful machine which can go just over 100km/hr!

On our hike the day before Madi picked some nice flowers along the route including this one, I think they called it a lampshade flower or something like that.

One day we took the kids to the Go-Karts which they really enjoyed. Aaron and Kyle shared one car while Aaron drove and Madi and Lexi each had their own car.
They all tried to be the fastest and I think Madi had the fastest car while Lexi at one point banged into the wall, but she got back in the race quickly. Aaron and Kyle can't wait to go again sometime.

and a self-portrait.

As usual the week went by too fast. The weather was great everyday and we all came back a little more tanned with another fun holiday together with our friends.

June
Well June proved to be another busy month. The weather was stellar all month except a bit of rain on my birthday! With the great weather a lot of time was spent outdoors. Sprinklers and kiddie pools were in regular use.
If you've read this blog for a while you know the regular cast and crew. Aidan, Michael and Keira came for a visit.
Last June Aaron got a mohawk and as this June approached , Kyle want his 'summer do' to be a mohawk.
Aaron joined Kyle with the mohawk for a week and then cut it off.
The showdown...
June saw Aaron play a number of T-Ball games. Here he is at bat.
And here he is the catcher.
Towards the end of June he had his final wrap-up baseball day where they received their trophy(very similar to last year)
Here is his team, the Red Dogs.
At the last baseball day a lady was making balloons for the kids and Kyle got an octopus.
At school, Aaron's class put on a 'Busy Day' production, which basically saw the kids take on 'jobs'. Aaron was a waiter and as the parents came through to visit we ordered 2 of the 4 items on the menu and Aaron served us.
There were also optometrists, teachers, firemen, photographers, manicurists, city officials, police officers and bakers as Aaron's friend Jacob was.
The kindergarten class also had a year end concert and graduation....he passed!
Kyle had a year end 'sports day' at his pre-school class. Here he is with his friends Michael and Talina.
Checking out his face painting.
Bowling...
Here are a couple shots of Keisha, I thought were pretty cute.
And in other 'wildlife' photography, a monach butterfly came to visit our hanging basket one day.
And more 'wildlife' photography a snail was on the 'green' at the mini golf game I went with friends for my birthday. I think this snail lived through our round of golf, others were not as lucky.
For my birthday Shelby made me a yummy chocolate cake with raspberries and whipping cream, thanks dear!
The day after my birthday we headed up to Westbank for a week of sun, pool, lake and good times with friends, hopefully I can make the post about that soon.
